This collection talks about the Latino culture and what it means to us in the United States; what we carry when we migrate and when we decide to take a look at our roots and our heritage. Personally, a Mexican-born and US citizen by choice, I consider myself to be just another pilgrim in this field we call earth. No more and no less. I am from this planet, and of the universe, of one verse… of oneness…

Identidad is la Virgen de Guadalupe and el Ché Guevara; the poet and the Revolutionary man; the corn and the ancient pyramid; bits and pieces of a culture born from the clash of old European conquerors and Native American Warriors. They said we were mestizos because they wanted to shame us for being Indios. My great grand mother was Mayan and her children were born with the spirit of the Jaguar and the wings of the Quetzal… my blood carries the roar and the flight of my Mayan ancestors.
