Ride: The West

This is my horse paintings collection. Equus Ferus, better known as mustangs in the American west or ponies, as the Native American Indians referred to the wild horse they domesticated and used for war. Fascinated by the symbolism and spiritual meaning of the painting Indian Chiefs and warriors put on horses to prepare them for war, I borrow some of those symbols with metaphorical sense. Example: the handprint on the warhorse symbolized “a battle won.” As a cancer survivor, I adopt the hand and the meaning on a different kind of battle. Also, the horses I paint are always peaceful looking, which means the war is over. Life is the triumph of all the wars fought represented by the presence of awareness and the moment known as now.
